The Garda Traffic Twitter account is getting a bit of a reputation for not taking themselves too seriously, and they continued that today.

A lot of people were hoping to catch a glimpse of the eclipse this morning, but between fog and cloud and bad weather, only a few parts of the country actually got a look in.

That notwithstanding, the Gardaí felt it was necessary to point out to road users that they should take care not to look directly at the eclipse and to plan their journey as best they could to avoid it…but they couldn't help themselves from slipping in a quick Bonnie Tyler reference.

Always nice to have a reminder that the police are real humans too.
