You might recall a few months ago how a stunning video of a young man clambering up the side of a building to rescue a child dangling from a balcony went viral.
Well, as it turns out, the chap in the video - Mamoudou Gassama - has only gone and landed himself a role in the fire brigade in Paris. Gassama, who was previously an undocumented migrant from Mali, was granted citizenship and a meeting with French president Emanuel Macron for his heroic efforts.
A photo was tweeted out by the Pompiers de Paris, which shows Gassama among the 24 new recruits to the service in uniform.

Shortly after the viral video, a spokesperson for the Pompiers de Paris said that it was lucky that there was "someone who was physically fit and who had the courage to go and get the child." Meanwhile, the father of the child is now facing up to two years in jail if convicted, as it was revealed that he had left the child alone after going grocery shopping and subsequently playing 'Pokemon GO'.
The father's trial take place in September.
