Baya was reported stolen two years ago
If you’re looking for a heartwarming feelgood story - or are maybe in the mood for a therapeutic cry - this video has you covered.
If you’re on social media, you’ll be all-too-familiar with posts sharing news of missing, lost or stolen family pets.
Unfortunately, it’s rare that there’s a happy ending with such stories - but not so in the case of Baya the French Bulldog.
Baya was reported lost or stolen in Galway two years ago - but when she was found wandering in Dublin recently and handed into the DSPCA, they were able to trace her owners via her microchip.
The DSPCA posted a video of the heartwarming reunion between Baya and her family, and it’d bring a tear to a glass eye.
The video has been doing the rounds on Irish social media, not only for its happy ending but for the importance of microchipping your pets, and making sure its registered to your name on a database.
“It was only on Friday that we posted about the importance of microchipping your pets and then little Baya came,” the DPSCA posted on Instagram. “We were able to reunite her with her heartbroken owners with one simple phone call. They would never have found her had it not been for her microchip, so please everyone, make sure your pet is microchipped and registered to you, you owe it to them!”
