Royal Wedding Fever was officially launched yesterday when it was announced that Prince Harry was engaged to American actress Meghan Markle.
It's just the beginning of months of an eye-rolling onslaught of ridiculous columns and opinion pieces by the British press, but for those of us less interested in the 'wedding' side and more in the political connotations of a British royal marrying an American, someone came up with a conspiracy theory that is currently doing the rounds.
Twitter user Greg Pollowitz pointed out that any children that the pair may have would have American blood, but would also be an heir to the throne (however far down the line he/she may be), and... well, it's undoubtedly tongue-in-cheek but it's gone viral, nonetheless.
Prince Harry's kids will be Americans. What if one grows up to be president and is in line for the throne at the same time? Brits are playing long-ball here, but it's a smart move. They want America back and this is how they'll do it.

This is the most credible post-Brexit strategy for the UK that I've heard so far.
