It might be nice in some parts today with the sun out and the temperatures up, but things look as though they are about to change pretty drastically.
MET Eireann sometimes get to bring us good news, but a lot of the time they're simply telling us to be ready for rain, and lots of it, and that seems to be the case this afternoon.
There are reports that heavy, thundery downpours will affect the northern and eastern parts of the island, with that weather spreading and hitting Leinster by the afternoon, bringing with it plenty of rain.
Warm sunny spells this aft but heavy showers also, mainly in N & E areas with the risk of some thundery downpours. Max 17-21C.

The outlook so far is for the bad weather to spread to the east from around 2pm today, with parts of the north expected to be experiencing the rain around now. There may be as much as 30mm of rain in the few hours, which would bring localised flooding and cause plenty of disruption.
Warning - some heavy and possibly thundery showers expected later. The @metoffice is warning of potential disruption. pic.twitter.com/xM8Y90ybZ2

Hopefully, it won't be too bad, but you should probably look around for your umbrella, just in case.
