Never let it be said that the Kardashians wield zero influence on the real world.
In fact, the world's most famous reality TV family are even capable of having power over a company's financial fortunes, as Kylie Jenner demonstrated yesterday.
Jenner is a regular user of Snapchat, but since the much-maligned update came in she has had mixed feelings on the social media platform.
On Wednesday, the new mother took to Twitter to share her thoughts with her 24.5 million followers:
sooo does anyone else not open Snapchat anymore? Or is it just me... ugh this is so sad.

still love you tho snap ... my first love

You might think that that was the end of it - but remarkably, her tweet had a major effect on Snapchat's stock market value, with its net worth dropping by 8%, or a whopping $1.5 billion at one point yesterday.
By the end of the day, the company had rallied somewhat and reduced that deficit to 6%, but its market value was still down a huge $850 million.
Whether this is the scare that Snapchat needed to revert to their pre-update platform or not remains to be seen - but over 1.2 million people have signed a Change.org petition asking them to do so.
Yikes.
