Really. In the 21st century, we need to be so pedantic that nuts need to have a contains nuts warning? Really? Who with a nut allergy would even consider for a second that an item labelled 'Monkey nuts' didn't contain nuts. Come one.
Well the British Food Safety Authority do, having issued an 'allergy alert' over the fact that supermarket Booths' nuts didn't have a label warning potential eaters that they contained nuts, resulting in the shop having to remove 300 packets from sale. And to add insult to injury they were forced to release the following statement, to any would be idiots out there.
'It is our responsibility as retailers to accurately record allergy advice. In this instance, we felt a responsibility to recall the product and issue a notice to our customers who might suffer from a specific peanut allergy.'
'If you have an allergy to peanuts, please do not consume this product and return it to your local store for a full refund. No other products are affected by this issue and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.'
They forgot to add, 'If you do have a nut allergy and purchased this product, please run into a wall repeatedly until you pass out, and then never do it again, you troll'.
