Senator Catherine Noone caused a pretty big stir earlier this week when she called MMA a violent 'non-sport' on Ryan Tubridy's show on 2fm, but it seems that she's changed her tune.
The reaction from fans online was one of outrage, but it seems that they have been more or less polite to the Senator, and offered to have a discussion with her on the topic, educate her a little bit about it, and even give her a few lessons.
She tweeted this afternoon that she might have "jumped the gun" with her comments, and that she wanted to let everyone know that she's going to do some more research before she makes any further comments on the matter.
Hands up - jumped the gun re UFC/MMA - lots of offers of training/education which I'll take up!

Senator Noone had originally said "I don't believe we should be serving as a platform on which to publicise it both nationally and internationally, and therefore I don't think we should be hosting this event here" in regard to a possible UFC event in Croke Park with Conor McGregor as headliner, but she has changed her mind, and might even have done a full 180° on i, judging by one of her tweets.
@siobhan36 I may set one up in Leinster House ðŸ'ª
