Yesterday we reported on the news that actress Selma Blair had been rushed to hospital after an incident on a plane involving a mixture of prescription medication and alcohol.
Now on the mend, Selma has released a statement apologising for what happened. According to Vanity Fair who have the exclusive on this one, Blair is deeply regretful that the incident occured.
Blair said: "I made a big mistake yesterday. After a lovely trip with my son and his Dad, I mixed alcohol with medication, and that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret. My son was with his Dad asleep with his headphones on, so there is that saving grace. I take this very seriously, and I apologize to all of the passengers and crew that I disturbed and am thankful to all of the people who helped me in the aftermath. I am a flawed human being who makes mistakes and am filled with shame over this incident. I am truly very sorry.”
We really feel for her; this could happen to anyone but it happened to her, a celebrity, on a plane, and of course it wound up in headlines around the world. But her humility in addressing the issue and her own vulnerability is very impressive. The actress found fame with early hits such as Legally Blonde and Cruel Intentions. Most recently she starred as Kris Jenner in The People Vs OJ Simpson: American Crime Story.
