Now before you freak out, they're not exactly first cousins. They're both Canadian, yes. No prizes for that one. They share a common family connection that dates not back a generation or two, but back 400 years from the earliest settlers in Quebec; they're 11th cousins once removed.
This news comes from new research conducted by genealogist Lesley Anderson who says that such discoveries are 'rare'. She's quite shocked to have discovered how many Canadian entertainers are related. Justin's also related to Avril Lavigne and Celine Dion, according to Ancestry.com. 'There's something special about discovering a shared connection, and to be able to go so far back in history to do so is one of the most satisfying aspects of family history research.'
So if you're Canadian, then you're probably very likely to be related to the Biebmeister too. Lucky you!
