The Royal Television Society Awards took place on Tuesday evening. In summary, the BBC pretty much won everything. Amongst the winners were Charlie Brooker (who was probably too shy to turn up in person); Louis Theroux (who was also up for the Sullen Looking Bastid award); Miranda 'Dorothy Spornack Wardrobe Appreciation President' Hart; Harry Hill; and Come Dine With Me (an award which should just go direct to Dave Lamb). If you're wondering why the a substantial amount of the Corrie cast were present despite the soap not even being nominated in the Soap/Continuing Drama category; they were there to celebrate Tony Warren's Lifetime Achievement. Tony is the man who created Coronation Street.

As well as bringing attention to Louis Theroux's maky uppy Sullen Looking Bastid accolade, we also feel obliged to make reference to a few other awards not covered by the Royal Television Society.

Charred Sausage in a Suit Award: Heston Blumenthal

'WENN Deem My Chin so "Hairy" That They Feel Compelled to Draw a Red Circle Around What Appear to Be a Few Stray Strands' Award: Leanne off Corrie... Really, if that's what qualifies as a hairy chin nowadays (overlooking the minor detail that it's blatantly the other side of her bob making its way into shot) I best stop strapping this half shorn yorkshire terrior to my chin every morning before I leave the gaff. People might start talking.
