Well, another Lovely Gerrals competition has come trundling to a close. Every year I vow never to watch it (mainly 'cause it reminds me of having to return to school after the summer holliers), and I almost succeeded this year - were it not for The Sydney (or Perth) Rose (can't remember) dancing a jig to a self-composed dittie entitled 'A Grieving Song.' Given she was jigging about in a strapless dress I doubt many were thinking much about dead relatives.

There were other talents on show - like someone regurgitating a poem her dad wrote, and some incessant singing, and someone claiming to be the New Zealand Rose despite being born in Lusk and only leaving Ireland's shores two years ago - but dancing seemed to be the order of the day...

Check out The Dublin Rose's *winces* hip-hop efforts in BOTW. Makes you proud to be Irish. Especially the crotch grabbing...

Oh, and The Queensland Rose, Tara Talbot, won. You can see her and a rake load of other lovely gerrals/walking Newbridge Silver billboards/this fright in Caught Out.
