Think Mission: Impossible, with much, much less at stake.
Crime never sleeps, and it also comes in through the roof to steal your potatoes, or at least it does in Cavan anyway. Gardaí are looking for assistance in finding a couple of crooks who committed a robbery at a general store that saw them gain access through the galvanised roof of the structure.
The criminals stole cash from the premises, as well as some Panadol, but interestingly also chose to take a few spuds with them, using the roof sheeting to help carry their loot from the premises. They may have trouble in shifting their stolen spuds however, as most people aren't keen on buying hot potatoes. Sorry.
Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have information about what happened, and hopefully they can chip away at this case until it's solved. Sorry. Sooner or tater, we hope they'll be brought to justice. Sorry. Anyway, something tells us that it wasn't quite as complex an operation as we had envisioned...
