Ever feel so bored and useless in work that you constantly ask 'What am I doing here?'
It's an unpleasant feeling to have but at least take comfort in the fact that there is at least person out there that feels their work is even more insignificant than you.

When your job is to save some of the strongest swimmers in the world from drowning, it really is hard not to feel utterly pointless.
Hopefully he's being well compensated for the boredom and the amusement the world is getting at his expense.

Of course in reality you DO need lifeguards on site in the unlikely event that one of the swimmers does experience some difficulty but try telling that to this guy while he has to live through 999,999 times out of a million when he's not called upon.
