What most normal people call “divorce”, Gwyneth Paltrow calls a “conscious uncoupling” – or at least that was the phrase the actress and Chris Martin used to describe their separation back in 2014.

Similarly, Paltrow has described her new marriage as providing “soul-stretching, pattern-breaking opportunities” and while her chosen terminology seems surreal, it’s rather lovely to see her all loved up as she announces her engagement to TV producer Brad Falchuk.

She confirmed the engagement in an interview for the lifestyle magazine she founded, Goop, in the publication’s “Sex and Love” special issue, saying: “Personally, at midlife, I have tried to accept how complex romantic love can be. I have decided to give it a go again, not only because I believe I have found the man I was meant to be with, but because I have accepted the soul-stretching, pattern-breaking opportunities that (terrifyingly) are made possible by intimacy.”

The couple met on the set of Glee, the musical drama that Falchuk created and Paltrow starred in, and have been dating for approximately two years. They also worked together on American Horror Story and Scream Queens.
