A Hollywood star has gone ahead and jumped onto the Republic of Ireland's Euro 2016 bandwagon in the form of Gerard Butler.
The 300 star tweeted his congratulations to his friend Martin O'Neill following Ireland's dramatic 1-0 victory over Italy.
Congrats to my mate Martin O'Neill & @FAIreland on qualifying for last 16 in #Euro2016. So wish I was there! #COYBIG pic.twitter.com/NVh0lhtM9D

Butler's admiration for O'Neill dates back to the Derry man's five year reign as Celtic manager. O'Neill won three league titles and guided Celtic to a European Cup final before leaving the club in 2005. He's still held in very high regard by the club's fans and by his friend, Butler.
