Passengers on the DART last night avoided injury after a train partially derailed near the Bray station.
Over 30 passengers aboard a late service from Greystones to Connolly avoided injury when the train partially derailed in Co. Wicklow last night, after hitting boulders on the line near the tunnel outside the Bray station.
Irish Rail released a statement regarding what exactly happened and explaining that the line would be closed this morning as a result of the derailment, but noted that the train stayed upright despite coming off the tracks.
The four-carriage train suffered some damage, with two wheels coming off as a result of the accident, while Barry Kenny, a spokesperson for Irish Rail said that "We are very grateful that there was no injuries resulting from this incident (and) we will be reviewing it, obviously."

There were significant delays as a result this morning and Dublin Bus accepted tickets from DART customers, but the line has now been re-opened and services are returning to normal.
