If people were wondering whether or not the Oscars was going to get political this year, they can stop wondering - because it definitely is.

Variety has reported that United Talent Agency, one of the largest acting agencies in Hollywood, has officially cancelled its annual Oscar party and is instead donating $250,000 to the American Civil Liberties Union and the International Rescue Committee.

UTA represents the likes of Will Ferrell, Mariah Carey, Oscar Isaac, Seth Rogen, James McAvoy, Chris Pratt, Ewan McGregor and many, many others. A statement read that UTA also plans to hold a rally on the day when their party would have been held "to express the creative community’s growing concern with anti-immigrant sentiment in the United States."

The Oscars this year are already steeped in controversy. Asghar Farhadi, who is a member of AMPAS and holds an Iranian passport, would have been prevented from attending the Oscars under Trump's ban. However, Farhadi has since said that even if he was able to attend the ceremony, he wouldn't in protest over Trump's "unjust" ban.

UTA chief Jeremy Zimmer said in a statement to his employees that "(our) world is a better place for the free exchange of artists, ideas, and creative expression. If our nation ceases to be the place where artists the world over can come to express themselves freely, then we cease, in my opinion, to be America."
