Dustin the Turkey was apparently "disrespectful" and "rude" to Niall Horan.
If there is one section of the internet that doesn't get the concept of self-effacing humour, it's hyper-fandom types otherwise referred to as 'stans'.
There's been countless articles about the toxicity of fandoms surrounding pop groups and artists, not to mention franchises like 'Star Wars', 'Harry Potter', but in this instance, it's just funny to highlight how... wrong?... they are. As you may already know, Niall Horan turned up during RTÉ's 'Comic Relief' on a segment that saw a reunion of Dustin, Zig & Zag, and Ray D'Arcy.
'The Den', as those of over 30 will remember, had a segment called Talent On The Telly which normally showcased viewers' random talent - except this time, it was only Niall Horan from Mullingar singing a little song he wrote. Sure enough, he launches into the thing before Dustin cuts him off after a minute and makes a few jokes.
Again, anyone who knows and watched 'The Den' and gets Dustin's schtick would not only laugh, but get the joke. American fans of Niall Horan, however, did not get the joke. If anything, they were incensed by it.
Take a look.
I don't know how they can think that what they did to Niall was funny, they are too stupid for having done that and for disrespecting an artist.

This is only a tiny portion of the lava stream of stuff going around Twitter about the segment, all of it seeming to neglect the fact that Niall Horan was more than aware of the joke and went along with it.
Of course, Niall Horan hasn't made any comment about either the fandom going crazy, the fact that he was cut off in the middle of the thing (and definitely knew that was going to happen) nor has Ray D'Arcy, RTÉ or Dustin weighed in either. Why? Well, there's an old saying that if you try to debate an idiot, people passing by not be able to tell the difference between the two.
On top of that, it's genuinely hilarious to see American stans trying to cancel Dustin online. He's been around for nearly three decades, Yanks. Do your worst.
All in all, this little episode proves that the internet and all that has sprung from it - even this website, dear reader - was a mistake that will doom humanity.
