According to a new dossier, Adolf Hitler was a regular user of crystal meth and a whole pile of other drugs during his time in charge of Germany.
A 47-page wartime dossier, the details of which will be revealed in a new documentary about the Nazi leader's life on Channel 4 called Hitler’s Hidden Drug Habit (which will air this Sunday at 8pm), claims that the Nazi leader was addicted to crystal meth, and that he was also on a cocktail of other drugs, in particular during the last days of his life.
According to The Irish Mirror, he was high on crystal meth at the time of his last meeting with Italian leader Benito Mussolini in 1943, and as he began to lose control of the war, he was on a mix of "barbiturate tranquilizers, morphine, nasal and eye drops containing cocaine and other drugs — along with bulls’ semen to boost his testosterone".
He was given the substances by Theodor Morell, his personal physician, and took 74 different medications in total as he lived out his final days in the bunker. The report also claims that he was showing signs of Parkinson's Disease by the end of the war, and the vast number of drugs he was on were bound to have had an effect on his health in that regard.
