D'you know what never gets old? Rumours that Cheryl Cole's going to be judging something. There were various series of the UK X Factor, and the US Xfactor, then Britain's Got Talent, then The Voice, and now - are you quivering to your very core with the sheer excitement?! - she's rumoured to be appearing as a judge on American Idol.

Outlets are going with the "COWELL'S RIVAL SHOW AMERICAN IDOL." Doubt it's a rival show, I'd wager Cowell has substantial shares in Idol, you know, given he appeared on the show and basically pilfered the premise from his slightly smaller mini-me Simon Fuller.

Anyway, the Call My Name singer (she has a single out at the minute, didn't you know, hence all the stories) - who was axed from the US X Factor last year after four episodes - is said to be wanted by producers of the hit talent show to join Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez on the panel.

A source told the New York Post: "It will be interesting to see how Jennifer deals with another beautiful woman sitting alongside her." She'd probably handle it just fine, she has been sitting beside Steven Tyler for the last 2 years.

Other outlets are saying Cheryl could replace Jennifer, who has recently hinted she may quit the show after two seasons on the panel.

The mother-of-two said; "Now this is my second year - I don't know if I can go for a third year. I miss doing other things. It really does lock you down, which was nice the first year with the babies being three, but now they're getting more mobile, they're about to go into school... so I just don't know." Indecision, now that's news.

Bosses are said to be willing to pay Cheryl in the region of $5m to $10m, compared to Jennifer's $15m to $20m. More money well spent...
