Some parts of the country have been issued with as status yellow warning for floods today, as the wet weather looks set to stay for a while.
Just the news that you wanted to hear as you come back after a Bank Holiday, but it seems as though there's more bad weather on the way over the coming days. Met Éireann have issued a status yellow warning with "the risk of some spot flooding" in the far North and Northwest, with Donegal looking like it might be the worst hit today.
There will be a small break in the rain for some parts of the country later however, but you can expect that to be short-lived, as they warn that "this evening and tonight showery rain will become more widespread again". That looks to be the pattern for the rest of the week too, with the wet weather continuing into tomorrow, which will be a cool and windy day with occasional rain or showers.
The rain will clear somewhat by Thursday which will be "a mainly dry day with just a few isolated showers", but that evening will be pretty bad again as widespread heavy rain will hit the most parts of the country as we head into the evening and Friday morning.
You'd better get the wellies out by the sounds of it...
