For the last few weekends we've been treated to some form of relatively inconvenient (especially given the power outages) storms of varying names. You should hear Uncle Des knocking on your door right about now, and expect him to stay for the entire weekend. He'll creep on out in the wee hours of Sunday, leaving the place in a state.
Met Eireann has issued quite a number of warnings of late, and now it's now declared it's most severe weather alert - Status Red - for Connacht, Donegal, Clare and Kerry. Those counties are expected to get in excess of 70mm of rain over the course of the weekend. That warning is in place from 18:00 tonight 'til Sunday at 03:00.
They've also issued two Status Orange warnings for wind (Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo and Clare) and rain (Cavan, Cork and Limerick), also lasting until 3am on Sunday.
Needless to say, with these levels conditions, it's imperative to make sure your pets are OK.
As for the rest of the country, there's two Yellow Status warnings, also for wind (Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Roscommon, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary) and rain (Leinster, Monaghan, Tipperary and Waterford). They are only in place until tomorrow night - so it's not all bad...
To put things into perspective, here's how we're looking in comparison to the neighbours.
