The voiceover work will be Markle's first acting role since leaving 'Suits'.
Although it's not yet known specifically how Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are going to work to become "financially independent", English newspapers are reporting that Meghan Markle has signed a deal with Disney to provide voiceover work on an upcoming project in exchange for a donation to a charity.
The Times UK is reporting that Disney are making a donation to Elephants Without Borders, a charity that tracks elephant migration and combats poaching, in exchange for Markle doing some voiceover work on an unspecified movie or documentary.
The news comes as negotiations are apparently underway to have Prince Harry and Meghan Markle extricate themselves from the Royal Family, with Markle now currently in Canada. Again, per the Times' report, the royal family are apparently tetchy about the idea of using their status as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to benefit charities as well as themselves.
However, in this instance, the work is done on a charitable basis and does not in any way benefit Meghan Markle or Prince Harry. Of course, this hasn't stopped speculation that Markle could end up back acting, with the likes of Andy Cohen offering her a slot on the reality TV show, 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills'.
Granted, the Royal Family is a ridiculous and outdated vestige of imperial power at a time when England and the United Kingdom's relevance and global standing is become less and less with each passing day, but the idea of having one of them on a reality TV show might be a step too far.
Not only that, you have to wonder how come the royal family didn't have the same kind of shocked reaction when it turned out that Prince Andrew was hanging around (no pun intended) with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on a regular basis.
Who knows? Who cares, really?
