You read that correctly. The man who invented Hammer Time *does running man* is launching his own search engine. He made his intentions known at San Francisco's Web 2.0 Summit this week.

He's calling it Wiredoo. Not Wierdoo, as my dyslexia keeps insisting it is. Sky News reports:

"In recent years, Hammer has been a fixture at tech events like Web 2.0 and Tech Crunch Disrupt in recent years. Still in development, Wiredoo will 'add relationship information to search results', reports the New York Times. At the summit, the entertainer used simple examples like cars and homes and showed how a search for the latter would produce information about neighbourhoods, local schools, mortgages, insurance etc. 'It's not a competitive attempt to recreate search. You can always make things better. There's always a next version. Do we really need another search engine? Of course not. But if something can be an added value, then we'll find a definite use for it."

So, he's saying Weirdoo (sorry, it just feels more natural that way) isn't in direct competition with the likes of Google and Bing, but it's the "next version", has "added value" and "makes things better."

Over to you, Googley overlords.
