"Listen up dipshits and sensible people."
Given how we're a week or two into new measures to flatten the curve and the US has only just begun, you can imagine it takes time for these things to make sense to people.
After all, this is a new experience for everyone, we're learning all the time about measures to be taken, and the truth is that people may not be taking it as seriously as they should. However, a US mayor has basically given up on trying to play nice and reassure people in a diplomatic manner.
Mayor Gabe Brown of Walton, Kentucky laid out his feelings in a Facebook post that has since caught international attention for its... forceful delivery. The screed opens with the following line - "Listen up dipshits and sensible people."
He goes on, adding that while he doesn't have the best "bedside manor (sic)", he implores people to recognise that this is a serious ordeal. "I didn’t give you information to induce panic. I gave you information, so that you’d be informed. Maybe, just maybe, I am privy to information that you aren’t."
On top of that, Mayor Brown was also frank about being tired of conference calls, adding that if people didn't like what he was telling then, "then go buy some toilet paper."
The real humdinger, however, comes from the end of this rant where he closes it all out with a 'Warmest Regards' right at the end. That right there tells you he's a professional, so good for him.
Have a look at the full rant, which was shared on Twitter earlier today.
