Matt Damon has weighed in on his lifelong friend and fellow actor Ben Affleck’s back tattoo.
It emerged just this week that Ben Affleck’s back tattoo, this ludicrously colourful, massive blob of a thing, which is meant to be a phoenix, might actually be real.
Affleck had initially said the tat was fake and ‘for a movie’, but he was recently spotted on a beach in Hawaii sporting the ink. Unless he’s had it redone for a sequel, it looks like the tat is legit and here to stay.

During Wednesday’s The Daily Show, host Trevor Noah asked Damon about the tattoo.
Damon, who said he’s seen the ink, showed nothing but support for his friend of 37 years, telling Noah: “It’s not one man’s job to tell another man what he can do to his back. I support him in all of his ‘artistic expression.’ ”
Noah replied, “Fair enough, that's a good friend answer actually.”
We personally think Damon should go one step further in his support of and friendship with Affleck and do what Conan suggests in the following sketch:
