Seemingly Wahlberg is that into his golf he headed straight to Portmarnock golf club as soon as his plane touched down on Sunday.
In an interview with The Herald, the Ted star said: "I played golf at Portmarnock, it was beautiful. I'd love to come back here on vacation with my family. I had a bite to eat with Rory on Sunday and I was like, 'Dude, I need to come back, play golf and just hang out and see the sights'. I will at some point, it's just hard with work and the kids are in school. He gave me a new driver, which was great, I just can't wait to get to a golf course or a driving range and try it out."
Keeping with sport, Wahlberg also had some thoughts on the upcoming McGregor V Aldo fight: "This is the fight he's asked for, but it's not going to be an easy fight. I'm polling for him, but Jose Aldo is a tough, tough guy... In order to be the best you have to fight the best. As long has he's ready..." Wahlberg's co-star Will Ferrell, meanwhile, is no stranger to our shores, having gotten on down with the locals on many occasions during his 12 visits to Ireland thus far. Speaking of coming here, he said: "The Irish are so friendly and they really enjoy sitting down and talking to you and there is a real sense of community here that's unlike any other place here in the world. That's what makes it special. And I love Guinness - I always have. I've loved it since I was in college."
Speaking of a few swifties, the pair were presumably nursing sore heads yesterday as they reportedly enjoyed refreshments in Matt the Threshers, Toners, and a "speakeasy." Of the latter, Ferrell declared: "We'd read about it the last time we were here, there was an article in Time Out New York about it so we had to check it out. But it wasn't much of a speakeasy. It was a guy put up a curtain in front of a doorway. We kept wondering, is this the place? There were plenty of seats and no one was there."
Now that's proper honest ta jaysis.
