Not a Cage related story for months and suddenly a slew on the same day. He must have a film in the offing *skips across the office to Mike... stomps back* Yep, National Treasure 2 is out on February 8th. PR people in general must think we're thick - "yeah we'll get LOADS of people to go see the film, you betcha, we'll just feed a few tales about the leads to the press about a month before the movie's release, people will go see it in their droves for sure! We don't even have to mention when the film's coming out cause that'd be too pointed - we'll let them think it's their idea, it's our covert way of brainwashing the masses!!!" Then the PR people release the following musings from Mr. Cage: "Drugs make every single nightmare you ever had come true. In my twenties I went through a period of drinking and drug-taking. It didn't make me happy but I wanted to experience them to know how they would make me feel. I never went to rehab, I never went through any form of AA (Alcoholics Anonymous). I went through years of experimenting and then hit the realisation that it just didn't work for me." Never fear kiddies, if the experimentation doesn't work out for you either, Nicolas did learn to amuse himself by housing deadly creatures and other such weirdness: "I had to get rid of my pet cobras because my neighbours threatened to sue me. The cobras were called Moby and Sheba and I kept them in my house in Hollywood for about three years. I had to keep the antidote to their poison as well because if one of those guys bit you then you had 15 minutes before the curtains closed. I loved them. I'd watch them for hours. I happened to mention them on 'The Late Show With David Letterman' and then it became a big neighbourhood problem. They threatened to sue me unless I got rid of them. I could see their point. I resolved the issue by giving the snakes to a zoo... I like to collect things: an octopus, the snakes, dead bats, human skulls (don't forget the living Elvis memorabilia). I study and involve myself completely in something totally different. It is part of what I do as an actor so it's not unusual that I do this in my private life." Or that we get to hear all about it.
