Judy Brown's long-game Christmas prank involves brussel sprouts, Ferrero Rocher, her father and a whole lot of patience
We all have different holiday traditions. Some of us jump in the sea, some of us always get into arguments, and some of us pass out on the couch before 6pm. And some, like Judy Brown, like to wind up their loved ones in some very creative ways.
Judy Brown's "favourite holiday pastime" is winding up her father and after doing so with aplomb in 2016, she really needed to go all out to get him this year.
Brown shared the story of her Christmas prank on Twitter and to say it's a nail-biting saga would be an understatement.
Some of you out there may recall that in 2016 I played an excellent Christmas prank on my long-suffering Dad. It worked a treat. pic.twitter.com/srfaVgLF2J

And so, yesterday, home for Christmas and with the devil at my elbow, I embarked on my most audacious sprout prank yet. pic.twitter.com/zr24u6Ve0g

I re-wrapped and (this is crucial) re-sealed the box with its original tape and a tiny dab of glue. Then secreted it amongst a bag of tasty gifts from my Aunt and retired to watch from afar pic.twitter.com/hkIThpvByI

This bright Christmas morning we were gathered round the tree, drinking tea and opening presents. Dad eyed the box. He quite likes a post-brekkie Ferrero. He approached. I hovered in the kitchen, careful not to spook him.

I am still chuckling. I will all day long. I know his retribution will be swift and terrible, but no Christmas gift could be greater than this: seeing my Dad, despite his efforts to avoid it, unwittingly eat a raw sprout. Merry Christmas, one and all. pic.twitter.com/RYV6pvYqbe

Brown's Christmas prank went down on treat on Twitter, with many calling it the highlight of the day. Others contributed some ingenious and downright evil ideas for next year's edition of the prank.

Next time you do this, you should do half & half. Let him think he's safe and then BAM there's a sprout.

This is utterly inspired. You may have ruined your dad’s Christmas, but you’ve made mine. 😂

next time strategically keep a real ferrero rocher inside and remember where it is so you can take it out and eat it casually so he won’t be suspicious

My dad is no longer with us but I am reading this and smiling knowing that he would have appreciated the joke and his retribution would also have been swift 🤣🤣🤣

Evil genius of which I approve

This is fantastic. Unspeakably cruel, but fantastic.

Do you know what it’s the sheer pettiness and mammoth effort for those few seconds of triumph that really reveals the whimsical arch-evil mind behind this that I can really respect. I salute you.
