Looks like the Green Party have accepted their status as Gill from The Simpsons

By now, you've probably seen an image corresponding the various political parties in Ireland to characters from The Simpsons.

For those that haven't, it's pretty basic. Fianna Fail are Mr. Burns, Fine Gael are Mr. Snrub, Labour are Mr. Burns as Jimbo Jones, Sinn Fein are Hank Scorpio and the Green Party are Gill, the hapless salesman based on Jack Lemmon's character from Glengarry Glen Ross.

Naturally, the image's become quite popular and has been shared across Facebook and Twitter and made its way to the Green Party themselves who have decided to cash in on the joke. There really does need to be more Simpsons-based memes used in Irish political discourse. How else are the likes of Fine Gael and Sinn Fein supposed to reach out to the electorate otherwise?
