You know, if she just let it lie, it would aaaaall be forgotten about by now. But she went running to her ma/nager Dina who has all of the discretion of, well, Michael Lohan.
Basically, this ad - featuring talking babies who are having relationship issues, so much so that the female one accuses the male one of having it away with a "milkaholic" called Lindsay - was show during the recent(ish) Super Bowl. The inclusion of "Lindsay" and "... aholic" ruffled the Lohan camp into "suing the firm responsible for £67million." Sure why not, if you need the money.
For those of you unable to watch videos in the workplace, The New York Post have come across with this handy synopsis: "The ad - part of a series starring babies who play the stock market - features a boy apologizing to his girlfriend via video chat for not calling her the night before. 'And that milkaholic Lindsay wasn't over?' the baby girl asks him suspiciously. 'Lindsay?' the boy replies, just before a baby girl sticks her head into the frame and slurs, 'Milk-a-what?' Lohan's lawyer, Stephanie Ovadia, said the actress has the same single-name recognition as Oprah or Madonna. 'Many celebrities are known by one name only, and E-Trade is using that knowledge to profit... They used the name Lindsay. They're using her name as a parody of her life. Why didn't they use the name Susan? This is a subliminal message. Everybody's talking about it and saying it's Lindsay Lohan'."
Especially her representation. Look at what her ma had to say of the "tearful phonecall" she got off her daughter:
"She said, 'Mommy, help me. This is wrong. How can they do this?' They're little babies doing this, mocking another child who's just trying to survive Hollywood, basically... I'm just basically glad I took a stand. I'm not going to let them do this to us anymore... Everyone knows Lindsay, like Cher or Madonna." So your people are lumping you into the same bed as Oprah, Cher and Madonna. No pressure, Lindsay.
However, the "creative" lot who produced the ad, them of Grey Group fame, said "unlike Oprah or Cher - Lindsay is a popular baby name." According to the company's spokesperson, one Chris Brown: "It happened to be the name of someone on the account team."
Lindsay Lohan got an accounting job with Chris Brown?! See, there is life after showbiz!
