The 54-year-old passed away suddenly in January
Just days after attending the Golden Globes in support of the biopic of her father's life earlier this year, Lisa Marie Presley sadly passed away.
The only child of Elvis, the 54-year-old died on January 12th only a few days after Baz Luhrmann's film won several awards at the glitzy ceremony.
Her sudden passing came as a shock as she had not been ill, but now her cause of death has been revealed.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner revealed that she died from a "small bowel obstruction caused by scar tissue that developed after a previous bariatric surgery years ago."
Presley suffered a cardiac arrest at her home in Calabasas, and her mother Priscilla announced her death with a statement that read: "It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known."
However, in the months following her death, a dispute over her estate between Priscilla and Lisa Marie's daughter, actress Riley Keough, dominated headlines. The ugly legal battle was resolved in June when Priscilla Presley surrendered control of her estate, being paid an undisclosed figure for dropping her petition in the settlement.
