Lindsay Lohan has reportedly hired a new lawyer in a last ditch attempt to save her from a 90-day jail sentence. The Parent Trap actress has turned to defence attorney Stuart V. Goldberg to stop her going to prison. The move comes after Lohan's former lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley quit (there's a surprise) on Thursday following her sentencing for violating probation for two 2007 DUI offences.

Goldberg is said to have jetted in to Los Angeles for a six-hour meeting with Lohan and her mum Dina, but he is refusing to confirm if he is officially representing the troubled star. But, he did reveal Lohan will be trying a new tactic to get the sentence overturned. Goldberg said: "I'm here to help her. She's in an ocean of a perfect storm and I'm gonna lift her up. Instead of making her reactive, like a pin cushion, we're going to be proactive. We're gonna go after them." Lohan faces having to surrender to jail on July 20 after being sentenced to 90 days behind bars, to be followed by a spell in rehab.

And so begins the rushed attempt at buying her freedom, 8 Days and counting.....
