Just in case you needed to hear it. And you *really* should.
"I had to leave my chair I'll be honest with you. It cut me really deep. And I don't get deep about these things. I'm a big movie fan, I'll be honest with you."
The former (current?) One Directioner Liam Payne was asked his opinion about the Will Smith slap during the Oscar's ceremony. And you're going to want to watch it just for... well... how concise his take is.
Unless you've been living under a rock this entire day - Smith gave Chris Rock a pretty dramatic slap live on air during the Oscars ceremony last night. The husband of Jada Pinkett-Smith walked up on stage to do the deed after Rock made a joke out of his wife's shaved hairstyle (the star suffers from alopecia).
A statement released by the governing body in which it states it "does not condone violence of any form" was released following the incident. Smith won Best Male Lead for his role in 'King Richard' on the night.
Right, now that you're all caught up, it's time for Liam Payne to take over.
The 28-year-old was stopped by 'Good Morning Britain' live from Los Angeles and asked his opinion on the Will Smith/Chris Rock beef. Revealing that he lived very close to the Smith family, and knows them quite well, Payne said he had to leave his chair while watching it unfold as it cut him "really deep".
He also references Smith as "one of the world's greatest emoters", drops in that he met Rock while he played a sold-out Madison Square Garden concert, and reaches out to all involved hoping "everyone is okay".
Anyway, enough of us waffling on, here's Liam Payne with his hot take on the Will Smith incident.
