Liam Gallagher is suing US newspaper (if you can call it that) The New York Post after it accused him of fathering a secret love child.
The former Oasis frontman is allegedly being sued for a reported $3 million by a woman in New York City, who claims she had a one night stand with the rocker and gave birth to their child less than a year ago, but now Liam has struck up his own legal battle with the publication that named him.
A spokesman for Liam's agent told the Mail: 'Liam Gallagher's lawyers are taking action against the New York Post. Further to that, we don't comment on gossip like this.'
Liza Ghorbani has been identified by The New York Post as the American journalist filing the lawsuit against the singer at Manhattan Family Court in New York City, although both parties are said to be keen to keep the case under wraps with a court hearing last week listing the claimants as 'Anonymous vs Anonymous' as the case was adjourned until later this month.
The mother is reportedly prepared to carry out a DNA test to confirm that the singer is the father of her seven-month-old daughter, according to paper.
The pair first met when she joined the star as part of the A Night Out With column in the New York Times newspaper in May 2010.
According to the Post: 'Liza met Liam when she interviewed him for the Times and they began an affair. It continued until around three months after the birth of the child. He ended the relationship when she told him she was suing him for child support. Liam admitted the child is his in an e-mail, saying she is a beautiful child because she has 'rock star genes'.'
Liam already has three children by three different women: 12-year-old son Gene with wife Nicole Appleton; Lennon, 13, with ex-wife Patsy Kensit; and Molly, 15, with Lisa Moorish, following an affair in 1997 but is a self-proclaimed 'top dad'.
