Today's Odom Update includes news that he underwent two emergency surgeries yesterday, is still on dialysis, and will possibly require a kidney transplant in the future. Given the amount of people at his bedside over the last week, Lamar won't be short of a kidney should he require one. 

TMZ reports that the surgeries "involved his chest" so they're presuming Doctors needed to deal "with his heart or lungs." 

E! News meanwhile state that there is "restricted" access to the NBA player, with only Khloe permitted to be by his bedside as he recuperates. 

Despite the surgeries, Odom's family are remaining positive, with his aunt - JaNean Mercer - releasing the following statement: "To our overwhelming delight, Lamar's courageous improvement continues on the incline in Los Angeles. He is beginning to gradually flourish both mentally and physically. His use of speech has increased and he's more cognitively responsive. His medical team has executed an aggressive therapy regimen to aid in his progress."

When asked how the family felt about her nephew calling off his divorce with Khloe, Mercer added: "In SINCERELY loving Lamar, we truly love and respect whomever he loves. We always have and will continue to do so. Together as a team, we will support and encourage him always."

Khloe, meanwhile, is in the midst of promoting her new book.
