The Oscar nominations for the 2018 ceremony were unveiled yesterday (see the full list of nominations here and our predictions here) and it was a day of celebration for many.
Among the happy campers were Kumail Nanjiani, who earned an Oscar nomination with co-writer and wife Emily Gordon for The Big Sick, and Edgar Wright, whose film Baby Driver earned three Oscar nods for film editing, sound mixing, and sound editing.
Following the Oscars nominations announcement yesterday, and after tweeting praise for his sound and editing team, Wright tweeted that Kumail Nanjiani was going to have to eat a bowl of Brussel sprouts, thanks to a bet he made with The Big Sick writer and star.
And also I told @kumailn that he and @emilyvgordon would get a best screenplay nomination and that if I was right, he had to eat a bowl of brussel sprouts.

Nanjiani then informed followers why Brussel sprouts were the chosen dish, and explained that he was indeed going to keep to his word:
Edgar loves brussel sprouts.
I hate brussel sprouts.
Tonight I will be eating a bowl of brussel sprouts and enjoying it for the first time. https://t.co/ekVhs68CiU
