The former Destiny's Child singer had a run-in with an usher

For many celebrities, glitzy events are all well and good - but it's the red carpet that is the main attraction - think the recent Met Gala, for example.

Such is the case at the Cannes Film Festival, where for many it's about being seen and not necessarily what film you're going to see.

So when you're rushed off the red carpet before you're finished smiling and posing - as Kelly Rowland was the other day - woe betide the usher that's moving you along.

The former Destiny's Child singer was attending a screening of the film 'Marcello Mio' and was posing for photographers when an usher is seen beckoning her along.

After moving up the stairs - where several more ushers urge her to move along, forming a barricade as she turns to wave to someone behind her - Rowland is seen losing her temper at one particularly insistent female staff member, who appears to step on her dress.

The incident has sparked a debate on social media, with some suggesting that there was an element of discrimination in the way that Rowland was treated, while others dubbed the usher in question 'French Karen'.

Rowland herself has not yet addressed the incident.
