OK, Bear is fine, I'm sure the wee two-week-old will be able to carry it off... although, really, it all depends on what little Bear's surname is going to be.
Will it be Bear Winslet after his mother? Or Bear Rocknroll in keeping with his father's most recent surname? Or Bear Smith after his father's surname prior to the name change?
For those unaware (that would be most of us) of Ned Rockenroll's original name, he was born Abel Smith (there's a rubbish joke involving being 'able to rocknroll' in there somewhere, but sure we'll leave it off). If Bear's surname is 'Smith', that could lead to all manner of confusion at PT meetings once creche/school commences.
Surname aside, they're definitely going with Bear, what with a source telling The Sun: "They are all doing so well, they both absolutely adore him - and the name Bear."
Kate - who also has a 10-year-old son, Joe, with her ex-husband, Sam Mendes, and a daughter Mia, 13, with her ex-ex-husband Jim Threapleton - is currently taking a break from the limelight to look after the two-week old tot at home in West Sussex, England.
They aren't the first to name their child after the large furry mammal - Jamie Oliver's son was christened Buddy Bear three years ago.
That won't be at all ridiculous when he's in his 60s.
