Kim Kardashian West has yet to publicly comment on West's apology.

A week after a tirade of tweets that revealed trouble in their marriage, Kanye West issued a mea culpa to his wife, Kim Kardashian, late last night.

Across a series of tweets about his presidential campaign, in which he claimed he can defeat Joe Biden by write-in votes, West publicly apologised to his wife. "I would like to apologize to my wife Kim for going public with something that was a private matter. I did not cover her like she has covered me," Kanye tweeted.

"To Kim I want to say I know I hurt you. Please forgive me. Thank you for always being there for me," he concluded. It's not yet known if Kanye is actively seeking a divorce, however Kim Kardashian has spoken about the rapper's mental health issues, particularly his manic episodes with bi-polar disorder.

In a lengthy statement issued last week, Kardashian described her husband as "a brilliant but complicated person who on top of the pressure being an artist and a black man, who experienced the painful loss of his mother, and has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his bi-polar disorder."

As well as apologising to his wife over social media and touting his chances as a viable option for US President, Kanye West also revealed the album cover for his latest album, 'Donda', which is due to be released this coming Friday.

Here's the album cover.
