The actor graced Esquire's April/May cover
The former couple are still in contact with one another, and have remained good friends since their split in 2017.
Following on from his previous positive remarks about his ex Jennifer Anniston in the past, Justin Theroux is still being asked about the subject four years on from their break up.
And to be honest, what he has to say about Jen is heartwarming to hear. The 49 year old actor is the most recent face on the cover of Esquire magazine, which has been getting a lot of attention.
The cover sees the star of 'The Leftovers' and 'Mulholland Drive' holding his dog. When asked about relationships, he said: "The only relationship where I think codependency should be totally encouraged is with a dog."
On the subject of Jennifer Anniston, the actor says that they have "remained friends". The pair were in a relationship for seven years, and divorced in 2018. He told the publication: "I would say we've remained friends. We don't talk every day, but we call each other.
"We FaceTime. We text. Like it or not, we didn't have that dramatic split, and we love each other. I'm sincere when I say that I cherish our friendship.
"We can not be together and still bring each other joy and friendship. Also, she makes me laugh very, very hard. She's a hilarious person. It would be a loss if we weren't in contact, for me personally. And I'd like to think the same for her."
Justin's next on screen appearance will be on a new Apple TV show 'The Mosquito Coast'. Based on the book of the same name by Paul Theroux (Justin's uncle FYI), the series is a gripping adventure drama following the dangerous journey of a radical idealist and brilliant inventor who is on the run from the US government, and uproots his family for Mexico.
