Now, some of you may think that Biebs getting arrested is the end of the world, (more of you thinking that it's the greatest day of your lives) but fear not Beliebers, our Justin is in good company when it comes to being banged up.
If history is to be any indicator, we can expect great things from the wee Canadian. You see, some of our greatest ever musicians/icons have been subject to arrest at some stage in their career, prompting a theory that this is just a mere rite of passage for the true greats of our time.
Let's take a look at some:
Elvis Presley
Presley was arrested in the mid 1950s for a speeding violation. He was doing 70mph while trying to get to a performance. He's all shook up in this photo, but he was the voice of a generation. He WAS Rock and Roll. The King.
Frank Sinatra
Â
Frankie was arrested for seduction and adultery in 1938, aged 23. The rascal. He still went on to be one of the most iconic singers of our time, mind.
Â
Jim Morrison
According to JimMorrisonOnline.com, the legendary front man of The Doors, was nabbed: "December 10, 1967, Aged 24. Jim was arrested on stage during a concert at New Haven, CT. While backstage with a girl, a police officer, not realizing it was Jim, told the couple to leave. Jim resisted and was maced by the cop. During the performance, Jim began to recount the story about 'the little blue man, in the little blue cap'. The police finally had enough, stopped the concert and arrested Morrison."
Rock and Roll at its finest. Jim Morrison, one of the best front-men of all time.
Â
Jimi Hendrix
On May the 3rd, 1969, Jimi Hendrix was arrested at Toronto International Airport for possession of heroin and hashish. He claimed that the drugs were planted on him, unbeknownst to him, by a fan. He was relieved of any charge later that year. Quick thinking, Jimi. Hendrix, regarded as one the greatest guitarists ever to hold an axe.
Â
 James Brown
On September the 24th, 1988, James Brown was arrested for doing a number on Georgia State Police, and bringing them on an hour-long, car chase that spanned across 2 states. Some buachaill, Brown. Look at the head on him there. A mad yoke, altogether. However, he's still arguably the greatest funk act ever to grace the planet.
So what do you reckon? Is there any merit in this trend? Could we all be looking back in 30 years and saying:
'Justin Bieber, sure he was arrested, but, man, he had the voice that inspired a generation'
Don't mind everyone else, Justin, we know you're going to go down as a legend in years to come.
