As if their break-up couldn't possibly get any messier, it seems that we haven't yet heard the last of the fallout from Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's divorce.
The acting pair's relationship crumbled in 2016 after allegations of abuse levelled at Depp by his former partner - including throwing an iPhone at her face in May 2016 - but now Depp has claimed that his ex-wife punched him twice in a new court filing.
Depp filed the documents in the UK, where he is currently based, as part of his latest libel case against outlets who claimed that he was violent towards Heard.
According to People, he said that she assaulted him after he arrived two hours late to her 30th birthday party in April 2016, saying that when he eventually arrived she was allegedly "cold" towards him and "criticised" him. Later that night, while in bed, he alleges that Heard - who he claimed had been drinking - became "aggressive and violent, punching him twice in the face."
After grabbing her arms and telling her to stop, he says that he grabbed her arms in a bid to stop her hitting him again.
A spokesperson for Heard released a statement saying: "These allegations are totally false. One needs only read the recent Rolling Stone article about Mr. Depp to understand his state of mind. Mr. Depp is currently being sued in multiple venues, including for assaulting a location manager on the set of City of Lies. On many occasions, eyewitnesses observed the extent of the abuse Mr. Depp inflicted on Ms. Heard."
