"He could pull off any bad guy in a movie"

There's no doubt that Elon Musk is one of those 'love him or hate him' kind of guys.

The Tesla, Space X and of course X boss has enjoyed quite a profile boost since buying the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, and with that profile boost comes an increased level of criticism - as Musk will have found out last night.

TV host John Oliver went all in on Musk on his last episode of 'Last Week Tonight', noting how the South African was embroiled in so many controversies this year that he "could pull off any bad guy in a movie."

"There’s Lex Luthor posing for the cover of Metropolis Maniacs monthly," he joked. "There’s ‘Why No Mr. Bond. I and my child bride expect you to die'. There’s, ‘I just bought your media company, I’m about to strip you for parts.’ There’s, ‘First racist sheriff.'”

He concluded: "And finally, the less fuckable reimagining of Billy Zane’s character in 'Titanic'. Truly, the man has range."

However, Oliver also got serious in his criticism of Musk, noting how public perception of him had changed over the past year and how he was once seen as a real-life Iron Man, or Henry Ford.

"Like Henry Ford, Elon Musk managed to build on the technology that others had invented," he said. "That’s not actually the only way he’s like Henry Ford, which you’d know if you ever Google either of their names and the word antisemitism."

So far, Musk has not yet responded.
