The actor was filming the protests on his phone when police surrounded him and began hitting his bike and him with batons.

By now, you're probably aware that most urban centres in the US are currently experiencing protests over the death of community leader George Floyd, who died after a police officer - Derek Chauvin - kneeled on his neck for almost 9 minutes.

Police have issued curfews in cities across the US, and have begun militarised action against protestors - including driving armoured jeeps into crowds of protestors, firing rubber bullets and tear-gas at protestors and journalists trying to cover the protestors, or baton charges at random people on bikes.

One of these just so happened to be none other than John Cusack, star of 'High Fidelity', 'Say Anything' and 'Grosse Pointe Blank'. Cusack was out in Chicago on his bicycle during the protests and was filming when police surrounded him and began hitting him and his bike to get him to stop filming.

Cusack filmed the whole incident and posted it on his Twitter. Take a look and think about the fact that if they're doing that to a household name like John Cusack, what are they doing to everyone else?

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Dwayne Johnson, Harry Styles and many other celebrities have called for justice for George Floyd's killing, and are offering money for bail for protestors arrested. Jamie Foxx spoke in front of news two days ago about the killing of George Floyd and what needs to happen next.

So far, Derek Chauvin, the police officer captured in the video of George Floyd's killing, has been charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter and was fired from the Minneapolis police.
