Having starred in the super intense mother! last year, Jennifer Lawrence intends to take a hiatus from acting.
The Oscar winning actress is currently promoting Red Sparrow, which sees her reunited with Catching Fire and Mockingjay director Francis Lawrence, and is set to hit Irish cinemas on March 1st. She plays a Russian ballerina turned spy in the mystery thriller, and it looks like another strenuous role which might explain her wanting to take some time out.
Lawrence sat down with ET's Carly Steel at a roundtable for the upcoming film last week, where she shared plans to turn away from the big screen for a while to pursue political engagement.
"I'm going to take the next year off," she said. "I'm going to be working with this organization as a part of Represent.Us ... trying to get young people engaged politically on a local level."
"It doesn't have anything to do with partisan [politics]," Lawrence said of her involvement with the non-profit organization. "It's just anti-corruption and stuff trying to pass state by state laws that can help prevent corruption, fix our democracy."
