It's one of the most acclaimed films of 2018 so far, by one of the most celebrated directors of his generation, starring an actor hailed as one of the best of all time - but Jennifer Lawrence didn't like Phantom Thread.

In fact, the actress said that she "got through about three minutes" of Paul Thomas Anderson's latest film before she had to turn it off.

Lawrence made the disparaging comments on Marc Maron's WTF podcast, saying: "I got through about three minutes of it. I put in a good solid three. I’m sorry to anybody who loved that movie. I couldn’t give that kind of time. It was three minutes and I was just [oof].”

She then asked Maron: “Is it just about clothes?” Is [Daniel Day Lewis’s character] kind of like a narcissistic sociopath and he’s an artist so every girl falls in love him because he makes her feel bad about herself and that’s the love story? I haven’t seen it, so I don’t know. I’ve been down that road, I know what that’s like, I don’t need to watch that movie.”

She was quick, meanwhile, to deny that she was referring to her ex-partner Darren Aronofsky.

It looks like we won't be seeing a Lawrence/Anderson collaboration anytime soon, anyway...
