The presenter says he is "heartbroken" following yesterday's news

"It's like Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Saoirse Ronan and Viola Davis go 'we'll always be nominated, and there's one place for someone else, but we'll always be nominated, regardless of what films we're in'."

Whatever your opinion on James Corden, he hits the nail on the head with his monologue about the Super League announcement yesterday.

While the topic of football isn't necessarily something that we write about here at entertainment.ie, nor do we follow religiously, it is worth noting James Corden's response to yesterday's happenings, which he describes as "disgusting".

In case you missed it, or don't understand what happened yesterday, we'll allow James to break down the Super League controversy in his video below. But here's a very brief summary from ourselves.

Essentially, Europe's biggest football teams have clubbed together to create an elite and exclusive breakaway league, which will only benefit themselves. There are 12 founding clubs involved, with three more allowed to join. Breaking it all down to its bare bones, these clubs are going to profit off of fans even more so than they've done previously (which was already mega money), squashing any chance of smaller football teams getting an opportunity to improve their standings.

We're not going to pretend to know the ins and outs of the system, so here's the full eight and a half minute monologue from James Corden on the Super League fiasco. If you're a football fan, take note.
