We all know Jade's documenting her battle with cancer they only way celebrities bereft of talent know how - with a reality show on Living TV. And, low and behold, some of her comments have upset the lesbian community. On the recently transmitted show, Jade said:
"I think I'm going to look alright with a bald head. If you've got really short hair, if you're not an absolutely stunning bird, it's really hard to pull it off, which is why I struggle. And you can take the risk of looking like a lesbian. Mum even told me that and she's a lesbian" (that gives her free reign to anything she likes on the matter)… I don't want to be wearing Timberlands, baggy jeans, and a big shirt with short hair or a bald head, 'cos people will be like... (pulls disgusted face)"
In response, TV presenter and Gay Rights activist, Amy Lamé (?) said to The Mirror:
"It's so distasteful, does she really think that's what all lesbians look like? It's a completely old-fashioned, cliched view. Does she really think she can get away with being homophobic like that? Plus, she's just managed to offend and insult not just lesbians but any woman with short hair including those who've lost their hair from illness, including cancer. You'd think she'd have more important things to think about than making a reality TV show and worrying about her hair. "
Someone might want to remind Amy as to why Jade is handed TV shows… it’s so we can marvel at how she can still manage to talk with both her feet stuffed in her mouth.
